An Ode to the JFK - The Staten Island Ferry

The NYC DOT recently retired the only vessel in the Staten Island Ferry fleet that’s worth damn. It’s the only one that had good air flow, and was generally comfortable (by public transit standards). A lot of commuters will miss this particular vessel. The “Kennedy class“ of ferries were impeccably designed and engineered, and the DOT has yet to improve upon it. Every ferry since has been an abysmal failure (especially the Barberi-class vessels, but don’t get me started on those hunk-of-junks).
