This Rondeau in D minor (also known as Round O) is a famous part of Henry Purcell’s Abdelazer suite, composed in 1695, as incidental music for Abdelazer or The Moor’s Revenge, a 1676 play by Aphra Behn, an adaptation of the circa 1600 tragedy Lust’s Dominion.
