The population of the US has been growing steadily. Between 2021 and 2022, it increased %. And between 2022 and 2023 – or so far, at least! – it’s increased another 0.5%. Furthermore, some of America’s fastest growing cities have seen population growths far exceeding that, with places like Georgetown, Texas seeing a 14.4% population growth between the latest census counts of 2021 and 2022 and Santa Cruz seeing a 12.5% increase. But not everywhere is growing. In fact, there are some cities that are doing the opposite – they’re seeing population decreases. While in the past few years big cities like New York have seen major population decreases, today those have stabilized – and new cities have taken their place.
