Videomaster Star Chess Introduction

A 1979 cross between a TV game and Chess. It plays a game of Space age chess for two players. While the game is an interesting variation on Chess, it is the design of the console which stands out. Brushed aluminium controllers, a ’Bang & Olufsen’ inspired console, with lift up perspex lid. The board is laid out in the same way as a standard chess board and the gameplay is based on the usual game but the chess pieces are replaced by space ships which are engaged in galactic warfare.
