Season 2 Episode 23 Production No. #054 Episode: “The Omega Glory“ After discovering the crew of the USS Exeter, all dead from having contracted a mysterious illness, Captain Kirk’s away team beam down to the local planet where all members of the party acquire a natural immunity to whatever microbiology is responsible. Moments upon their arrival they discover that the Exeter’s captain, Ron Tracey has survived the fate of his crew and since becoming marooned has established an alliance with a community of people who are currently sustaining a long conflict with their neighbours; of course in picking sides and introducing his allies to advanced Federation weaponry Tracey has violated the Prime Directive, requiring that Kirk take him into custody... or at least attempt to. With their illness now fully immunised, all members of the landing party are free to return to the Enterprise however Tracey’s allies have since fallen after a decisive and bloodied assault by their enemies; curiously this enemy, the Yangs arrive at their courthouse with a US flag and a copy of the US constitution. After Kirk proves to the Yang chief that he and his party are on the side of good, Kirk attempts to educate them on the context of the content in their constitution.
