Tourists to be banned from Kyoto’s geisha district

The move aims to protect the traditional entertainers from harassment by “out of control tourists”, after local authorities reported a surge in cases. There have been numerous accounts of geisha being blocked by tourists and forced to take photos, as well as incidents of unwanted contact.
