Linked Hybrid is an “open city within a city”.
The family of towers connected by bridges promotes the interaction between the users - residents, teachers, business owners, and visitors. The project aims to counter the current privatized urban developments in China by creating a new twenty-first century porous urban space, inviting and open to the public from every side. The entire complex is a three-dimensional urban space in which buildings on the ground, under the ground and over the ground are fused together. Within the sky loop, the building functions as a social condenser that Steven Holl hoped would generate random relationships and create a special experience of city life for both residents and visitors. This architectural film shares the cinematic visitor experience highlighting the site context, and remarkable design fluidity.
