The project finds the Italian Jamaican showing his production skills by remixing twelve songs from Soul Pirate, his iconic 2006 album. Reworking classic tracks like “Kingston Town,” “Still Blazing,” “Rastafari Anthem,” and “Herbalist,” Alborosie evokes the spirit of the Jamaican sound system with his mostly instrumental dub mixes defined by seismic bass lines, ricocheting echo effects, and clattering drum patterns. Dub Pirate will be released on April 20th, 2024, as a Record Store Day exclusive in white, orange-splatter vinyl limited to 1,200 copies worldwide. It will also be available on MQA-CD and digitally.
