The Vogues were a vocal group from Turtle Creek, Pennsylvian, and “Five O’Clock World“ is their best-known record. The song was written by Allen Reynolds and recorded at RCA Studio B in Nashville, where many famous musicians have recorded. The Vogues were Bill Burkette (lead baritone), Don Miller (baritone), Hugh Geyer (first tenor) and Chuck Blasko (second tenor). The session musicians on the recording were David Briggs (keyboards), Jerry Carrigan (drums), and Norbert Putnam (bass). Reynolds, the songwriter, later became Garth Brooks’ record producer.
