LONGEST LEVEL IN GD | Desert Bus VERIFIED by ASBCHazel (Verified by nifty)

NOTE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO ATTEMPT THIS: This level is very broken (as expected for an 8 hour long level) so there are some things you need to do before you play the level. First of all you will NEED the 4gb patch in order to play this level. Without it the game just crashes upon trying to open the level so go download it here: top of that I would also suggest setting thread priority to high for Geometry Dash. Second of all you HAVE TO play this level on 60 fps. Eventually you’re icon will straight up just stop moving at some point on higher fps’ as well as many other problems that can come with playing on anything above 60 fps, so make sure to turn off vsync and fps bypass. Third of all make sure to play this level with game audio completely off. I can’t really explain why but this level has crashed multiple times for me before after getting a few hours in with game audio on and I don’t know why but just turn off game audio. And I mean in the actual sliders in game btw. This is also why the level doesnt have a song or song replacement in game btw if you were curious. Finally, this isn’t really REQUIRED but I would highly suggest you play this level after having just opened the game because it overall gives it a way lower chance at the game crashing. Anyways that’s basically it and good luck to anyone who is insane enough to actually attempt playing this level lol. Talking about Ziegenhainy’s Desert Bus though that version is only 6 hours long as compared to the 8 hours from the original Desert Bus game so it isn’t really as accurate to the original game as this version. Also this version has some cool “easter eggs“ in it so it’s just overall more cool fr. Anyways now for some frequently asked questions because I feel like there are some things a lot of people will ask lol. Q: How many objects does this level have? A: ~700K Q: Why did nifty gain stars after verifying the level? A: This level was originally uploaded onto the Worst GDPS (you should join btw ) and was rated on April Fools as a joke but just stayed rated despite not being verified. (though it is now) Q: Couldn’t you have just used triggers to make the level repeat instead of copy and pasting it for the whole level? A: No, the original version of this level I made back in like September used triggers and such to make the level repeat in order to be more optimized but after trying to verify it, I found out that the triggers end up breaking at ~25% and nothing shows up for the rest of the level past that point. Q: Why is the level 8 hours and 20 minutes? A: The game lied to me or something idfk! In the editor it said the level was 480 minutes (8 hours) but I guess, probably due to something with how the game breaks the further the x position, the level is instead 8 hours and 20 minutes. There IS supposed to be an extra minute or so though because the intro and outro weren’t supposed to count for the 8 hours. Q: How did you make this? A: I simply just used the editor extension hack in Megahack v7 and other than that, a lot of free time and guessing haha. Anyways I’m just going to ramble for a bit now. I have had this level unverified for so long and I have been waiting for so long for someone crazy enough to actually go ahead and beat it and I’m legitemately very happy that this is now verified haha. I made this level back in like September/October of 2022 and ever since then it’s been an open verification and it’s crazy that someone actually went through with it lmao. And also something I was not expecting was after nifty started playing it for UltracauaHD to also start playing Desert Bus and I find it really funny that I inspired all of this lmao. Ultracaua didn’t beat my Desert bus btw but he did say that he will end up beating this version at some point as I assume he accidentally played the wrong version as well as that version being really short so that’s pretty cool. Anyways I’m just overall really happy with the random attention that this level started getting and idk just everything about me making this level and people trying to beat it has been really really fun.
