The Blonds are inherently about excess - even at the beach. For their first official foray into resort wear, they have created a collection of pieces that will take you from slinking by the pool in heels to the hottest nightspot imaginable. Inspired by the film Overboard, starring Goldie Hawn, mixed with Miami Beach in the 1990’s, and a cast of colorful characters like the fan-favorite Teletubbies, the Miami Swim Week moment is literally all about fun and making magic in the sun. The runway show featured top models, including Georgina Mazzeo, Lisa Jackson, Elena Matei, Ulbossyn Tassanova, Enayyah Musa, Karen Soto Salazar, Dilara Acar, Amber Keaton, Jasmine Chola, Eliza Finskaya and Meley Akpa. The Blonds are best known for creating collections that are glamorously over the top with a rebellious twist that caters to the entertainment industry. Inspired by music, film and art, the brand utilizes an eclectic mix of textiles and embroidery. David and Phillipe Blond have been designing pieces for Beyonce, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Cardi B, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and other musicians for almost two decades. The brand has collaborated with companies such as Disney, Universal, Warner Bros., Christian Louboutin, Moulin Rouge, Playboy and Barbies for Mattel.
