Venezuelan opposition cries foul after Maduro declared election winner | DW News

Nicolas Maduro has been declared the winner of Venezuela’s presidential election by the country’s Electoral Council, with 51 percent of Sunday’s vote. But the country’s opposition coalition has disputed the result. It claims the votes have been manipulated by loyalists close to the president. Nicolas Maduro has ruled Venezuela since taking over from Hugo Chavez in 2013.
