Deep ploughing is something almost unique to the polders in the Netherlands. In this case the heavy clay soil (50% clay content) is ploughed under deep and fresh sand and peat is brought up. It looks extreme but the clay and sand will later be mixed, creating a versatile top soil that can grow nearly every crop. This is for an organic farm who will grow vegetable crops.
