I bought this Fender/Squier Bass VI offset a couple of weeks ago and in this video I wanted to give it a quick review and show you guys how I intend to use it in my music.
When first I saw it at a local music store I actually thought it was baritone guitar but this is in fact a six string bass. It’s a part of the vintage modified Squier Classic Vibe series but Fender originally produced those between 1961 and 1975 and they were used by many legendary musicians including The Beatles and Glen Campbell.
It’s a really cool instrument in my opinion and it can be played like a regular bass or even as a ‘deep’ guitar or something in between.
The short live clip from this video is from a gig I played with Ragnar Olafsson’s solo project. In the clip Ragnar sings and plays the acoustic guitar, I played the Bass VI (through my Kemper Stage Profiler) and Skúli Gíslason played the drums.
