It’s 1904 and the Stephen children are in mourning from their Father’s death. Sisters Vanessa and Virginia, a painter and writer respectively, together with their two brothers, Thoby and Adrian, are thrust into a life of unexpected freedom. They have recently moved to the bohemian Bloomsbury area of London and are determined to cast off Victorian conformities. Thoby introduces likeminded friends who include the urbane Clive Bell and the flamboyant Lytton Strachey, plus beautiful gay painter Duncan Grant.
