UK’s first children born using three parent DNA samples

영국에 3명 유전자 지닌 아기 출산 희소질환 막을 체외수정 Turning over to the United Kingdom where its fertility regulator has confirmed the birth of babies, that were made using the DNA of three people in an experimental technique. Announced on Wednesday it’s a first for the UK. Called mitochondrial donation treatment the procedure is a form of genetic modification. It’s meant to prevent the inheritance of rare genetic mitochondrial diseases such as muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, and heart problems. It does this by replacing defective genetic material from a mother with a healthy version from another woman’s egg. Only zero-point-one percent of the donor’s genetic material is used.
