Marilyn waltzes with Laurence Olivier in ’The Prince and the Showgirl’

In the movie she made in England in 1956, Marilyn Monroe played an American chorus girl invited to the Carpathian Embassy by the Prince Regent (Laurence Olivier). He is looking for some pleasant relaxation during his visit to London for the 1911 coronation of George V. He and his son Nicholas, the soon-to-be king of Carpathia (Jeremy Spenser) have political differences, as Marilyn discovers during the evening’s Coronation Ball.
