First-ever electric vehicle from Rolls-Royce unveiled. It’s called Spectre and it’s a two-door, four-seat coupe similar to the company’s old Wraith and Phantom Coupé models, but instead of the company’s traditional V12 engine, it has an electric motor. The Spectre “demonstrates how perfectly Rolls-Royce is suited to electrification,“ according to the company, and was unveiled today at the company’s home in Goodwood, southern England. The Spectre utilizes the company’s all-aluminum “Architecture of Luxury“ platform, new “Spirit“ software architecture, integration with the company’s current digital services, and smartphone app called Whispers, rather than merely being an electrified version of an existing vehicle.
