Story line: “ On this winter evening I simply lay on my large and soft bed. Opposite me there was a small window from which the winter forest was visible. I admired the strong blizzard and snow flakes rushing past at great speed. There was a fireplace burning nearby; it was small, but it warmed my tree house very well. Buddy slept soundly on the rug; it was his favorite pastime. This tree house was my refuge and the place where I felt most at home. I built this house myself about 5 years ago, without even having any knowledge or skills in construction. I had a great desire and a lot of literature on construction, and as it turned out, that was enough. One day I came up with this brilliant idea to build a small wooden house in the forest. Then I thought, why not build it on a tree. Initially, this idea seemed a little stupid, but after a while it became firmly established in my mind. After just half a year of hard work, the house was ready. It didn’t turn out perfect, but exactly as I saw it. It became a wonderful place where I wanted to live. Every corner, every detail, every furniture (which I carefully selected) made it incredibly cozy and comfortable. The basis for its construction was several strong and tall pine trees, on which it was fixed. The house was carefully camouflaged and was very difficult to see from the outside. It was possible to climb into it only by a wooden ladder, which could be lowered by pulling a hidden rope. After this, the stairs went back up. This house became my fortress, in which I could remain in complete harmony and tranquility. In the evenings, I liked to sit by the fireplace with a mug of hot berry tea, read a book, play the guitar, or just listen to the radio (this was the only source of communication with the outside world). The distance to the nearest village was about 12 miles. Sometimes I rode my bike there to buy groceries and other necessary goods. Now, in such harsh weather, I had enough supplies of food, firewood, kerosene, matches, and other necessary things. I could live here quietly for 2 months and not need anything. That’s how long I planned to stay here, and after that to return to the city again, since the vacation was ending by that time.
