BC floods: 600 people evacuated in Abbotsford as water levels fluctuate | FULL
Abbotsford mayor Henry Braun said on Thursday that 600 people had been evacuated due to flooding, including 11 who were rescued overnight.
“The floodwaters from the Nooksack River continue to flow northeasterly across the Sumas Prairie, and water levels there continue to rise toward the east of the Prairie. This is a situation that we are very closely monitoring,“ Braun said.
Police Chief Mike Serr said there were still 40 people in the evacuation order area in Sumas Prairie.
