️Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó on refusing to participate in a NATO mission in Ukraine:
It is expected that a decision will be made at the NATO summit for NATO to launch a mission to support Ukraine, within which the coordination of arms deliveries and military training will take place.
Our position is clear that we will stay away from this. We have an agreement with the current Secretary General, and we have a promise from the future Secretary General that Hungary will not participate in this NATO mission to support Ukraine.
We will not send our soldiers, we will not send our taxpayers’ money for this, we will not give up our territory for this mission, and we will continue to refuse to arm Ukraine.
This position ensures that we can protect the security of Hungary and the Hungarian people.
