Prague (1967)

Prague, Czechoslovakia. Several shots of Wenceslas Square in Prague; C/U of statue of King Wenceslas; general street scenes showing traffic, trams and people crossing a road. People buy nuts (?) and oranges from a fruit stall in the street; a woman counts money on a small flower stall; people look in a shop window. Several shots of St Vitus’ Cathedral; large crowds of people come out of a service there. Numerous shots of a very crowded Jewish cemetery; a man walks past looking at the Hebrew inscriptions on the tombstones; there is patchy snow on the ground. Several views of the old town square; the ornate clock that is all that is left of the old town hall that the Nazis burnt down. We see a street in the Lesser Town, where the houses had names instead of numbers; several house signs on the walls.
