Grigory Sokolov - pianorecital - live at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, 12 nov 2000 - Schumann/Chopin

This audience recording was made with good equipment, so in very fine sound. Sokolov starts his recital with Schumann : Arabesque and 3 Noveletten. He continues the first half with Franck’s Prélude, Choral et Fugue. After the intermission he plays 10 Mazurka’s by Chopin in a very philosophical and meditative way. At the end of his recital, he plays 2 encores : music by Ravel and more Chopin !
