‘BRICS opportunities for economic progress are immense’ – S. African president

This year saw two African countries, Egypt and Ethiopia, join the ranks of BRICS. The first nation from the continent to become part of the group was South Africa back in 2010. Ahead of traveling to Kazan, the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, said ‘historic expansion of BRICS creates further opportunities to foster robust trade and development cooperation.’
