This work opened the gala concert celebrating the reopening of the newly renovated Carnegie Hall. Other performers included Marilyn Horne, Yo-Yo Ma, Frank Sinatra, Vladimir Horowitz, Issac Stern and Zubin Mehta. The concert was concluded with a performance of Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony.
