Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters rally outside Downing Street

Thousands of protesters descended on Downing Street to call for a ceasefire in the conflict between Israel and militant group Hamas. Whitehall was closed to traffic as the pro-Palestine protest took place as the war in Gaza continues in its fifth month. Israel invaded the Gaza Strip after Hamas launched a cross-border terror attack into Israel, killing 1,400 and kidnapping a further 250.
