Protesters around the globe chant ’Putin is a killer’ after ’murder’ of rival Alexei Navalny

Many protesters held signs critical of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom many blame for the Russian opposition leader’s death. Navalny, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s most formidable domestic opponent, fell unconscious and died on Friday after a walk at the “Polar Wolf“ Arctic penal colony where he was serving a three-decade sentence, authorities said. Manifestations and vigils took place all around the world after the shocking news of Navalny’s death – many participants denounced Vladimir Putin for what they believe is “murder“. Signs saying “Putin is a killer“ were seen throughout the major European and American cities that took part in the protest.
