Björk – It’s Oh So Quiet (Lyrics)

Song: It’s Oh So Quiet Artist: Björk Album: Post Year: 1995 Lyrics Shh, shh It’s oh, so quiet, shh, shh It’s oh, so still, shh, shh You’re all alone, shh, shh And so peaceful until You fall in love, zing boom The sky up above, zing boom Is caving in, wow bam! You’ve never been so nuts about a guy You wanna laugh, you wanna cry You cross your heart and hope to die Till it’s over, and then, shh, shh It’s nice and quiet, shh, shh But soon again, shh, shh Starts another big riot You blow a fuse, zing boom The devil cuts loose, zing boom So what’s the use, wow bam! Of falling in love? It’s oh, so quiet It’s oh, so still You’re all alone And so peaceful until You ring the bell, bim bam You shout and you yell, hi ho-ho You broke the spell Gee, this is swell, you almost have a fit This guy is “gorge“ and I got hit There’s no mistake, this is it! Till it’s over, and then It’s nice and quiet, shh, shh But soon again, shh, shh Starts another big riot You blow a fuse, zing boom The devil cuts loose, zing boom So what’s the use, wow bam! Of falling in love? The sky caves in The devil cuts loose You blow, blow, blow Blow, blow your fuse, ahh! When you fall in love Shh History “It’s Oh So Quiet” features on Björk’s third studio album, Post, and was released as the album’s third single. It is a cover of Betty Hutton’s 1951 song of the same title (which was in turn a cover of the German song “Und jetzt ist es still”) and is Björk’s biggest mainstream hit. The video’s aesthetic (directed by Spike Jonze) is very reminiscent of musical movies such as West Side Story, or The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (the video is actually based on the latter). It’s worth noting that five years later, Björk actually starred in such a movie. She had the lead role in Lars Von Trier’s musical drama Dancer In The Dark. Contact: Somdosilencio31@
