Tarangam plays a vital role in a Kuchipudi repertoire. Tharangam is a term given to chapters in Sri Krishna Leela tharangini by Shri Narayana Theertha. Here, the dancer exhibits all three aspects of dance - nritta or pure dance, nrityha or abhinaya, and natya or depiction of a story. Standing on the rims of the brass plate, the dancer answers the percussion.
In this rare tharangam on Ld. Shiva, the poet addresses him as the auspicios one residing in kailasha, who is the very existance and revels in His Dance of Bliss.
