Translating the Readings of the Quran (with Dr. Marijn van Putten)
Following their wide-ranging and well-received discussion last year on “Muslims and Non-Muslims Studying the Quran“ () Dr. Sohaib Saeed of Ibn ’Ashur Centre sits down again with Dr. Marijn van Putten of Leiden University to explore one area in more detail: the variant readings of the Quran and their implications for meaning and translation. This is based on a joint paper they presented at the IQSA meeting in Palermo, Sicily, in September 2022.
