BEST OF AVIATION 2016
Well, 2016 has finally come to an end. It’s been an interesting one. It’s been fairly negative for many reasons such as Brexit, numerous terror attacks and many many famous and beloved people passing away. But for me, and in general the aviation community that I’m in. It’s been highly positive year, loads of trips to loads of new airports, a few new ones such as Dusseldorf and Shannon, along with some overdue returns to Heathrow, Leeds and of course Dublin, which we did 3 times in the end! Aircraft wise, my first time flying on an ERJ 175, First time on an ATR, First time on a BA Flight (A321 and A319) and more! This year i’ve been on 7 Ryanair flights to and from Ireland. I’ve also flown in both the PA38, and 28 as part of my PPL training. Movements wise my highlights are probably the Singapore SG50 A380, Swiss CS100, Cityjet SSJ100, PIA Retro 777, VIM A330, Jeju Air 737, ALK Airlines MD-80 and Seeing the Typhoon, Red arrows and Lancaster at LPL. This year has been respectively dubbed “The Year of the Go Around“ as there have been loads caught through my camera lens. My favourites being the Wizz 320 Touch and go, KLM E190 at LBA, Ryanair 737 EI-FRL and the Storm Barbara ones at DUB. There were of course, many many more!!
But, what I think has made my year as good as it has been is the many oppurtunites I have had to meet new people. and meet up with some who I hadn’t seen in a while. It was amazing to meet up with Rudi once again when he came over in the summer. Next time we’ll meet you in AMS! I have to also extend a massive thanks to Mr Ray Woodman, who single handedly created the greatest aviation community out there. Since March Plane&Simple has enabled me to meet some quality people. And be able to share my content. I good chunk of the responsiblity for my channels progress and my personal progress this year is down to Ray and his amazing group! I would also like to say a massive thank you to my parents for being able to take me on all the trips, and for braving the elements, standing out on the various mounds in sun, rain, hail and wind. Very much appreciated! Finally i’d ike to say a big thanks to Mr Alessandro Tessari, who has honestly been a huge inspiration to me and for my future in aviation. Once again it is greatly appreciated and I will always remember what you said about Boeing and Airbus that time, to this day the funniest aviation joke I’ve heard!
Moving into 2017 I have loads of new amazing content for you all. In February I am flying to Madeira, Funchal Airport. Going out with Monarch and coming back with easyJet. Look out for inflight videos, along with some amazing spotting from one of the worlds most dangerous airports! That’s about the only trip thats confirmed but I’m sure there will be loads to come, plenty of visits to LPL and MAN, along with a few BHX, LBA and EMA Visits. The year is going to be a good one.
So I’d like to finish this year with the biggest ever aviation music video, which covers just about every airport trip I have done this year. It’s long, but I invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the video!
