The boys, from poor families, work on the farm in return for $2 a day from Ford, plus meals and a share in the profits. The men work on tractors to plough fields, pose for the cameras with Henry Ford, eat in the canteens, operate combine harvesters, pick vegetables and sell them at a roadside stall.
