Modest Mussorgsky - Une Larme (A Tear) Performed by Pierre-Bastien Midali. Mussorgsky’s #piano work is small in scope, but it represents a very original branch in his musical heritage. Of course, one of the outstanding works is the cycle of piano pieces “Pictures at an Exhibition”, written in 1874 as musical illustrations-episodes for watercolors by V. A. Hartmann. But this cycle is not limited to the most outstanding examples of his art in this area. The piano piece “Tear“ was written by Mussorgsky in 1880. A year later, the composer died. Severely ill, severely suffering from want, loneliness and non-recognition, #Mussorgsky , inspired by a big concert trip in 1879 to the south of Russia and Ukraine, writes significant words: Life is calling to a new musical work, a broad musical work ... to new shores of yet boundless art !
