Alexis And Dorrano - Celebrated Adagio Dancers (1934)

Titles read: ’NOW FOR Alexis and Dorrano the celebrated ADAGIO DANCERS, in their famous ’Danse Apache’. Probably filmed in Pathe Studio, London. Setting is a seedy French cafe / bar. Item starts with Alexis taking money from a (presumed) stolen handbag, lifting her dress to hide money under her knicker elastic! Dorrano enters, sees her and demands she hand over the money. They then begin Apache Dance which consists of Dorrano throwing Alexis around by her hair, throat, then slap each other etc. At one point Alexis knees Dorrano in the groin. Ends with Dorrano throwing the unconscious Alexis over his shoulder and leaving bar. While all this is going on, various customers including a very well dressed couple (tourists slumming?) look on in horror. Music played is ’Valse Apache’. No other info apart from ’Their Own Arrangement’ This is duplicate of item in Pathe Sound Pictorial PSP 870 - see separate record for details. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
