Syria: Northeastern stretch of M4 highway reopens after 7 months after Russian mediation

Subscribe to our channel! A section of Syria’s M4 in the North East of the country was reopened following Russian mediation efforts on Monday, after months of closure since operations in the area by Turkish-backed militants in 2019. Footage filmed near Tal Tamr in Syria’s Al-Hasakah governorate on Monday shows armoured military vehicles bearing both Russian and US flags on the road. The convoy reportedly ran from Tal Tamr to Ein Issa, approximately 144 kilometres (89.5 miles) to the West. The towns themselves remain under Kurdish forces and government forces, respectively, while the stretch of road connecting them was held by Turkish-backed forces.
