As defeated Northerners retreat toward Peking, refugee hordes start back to abandoned homes. Back to rest billets after victory. Weary Nationalist soldiers return to Nankin. “ Nankin, China L/S crowds in the streets of Nankin, with people milling about, and tall flags in view. Chinese soldiers stand easy in a line, wearing white uniforms with ammunition rounds or bullets worn diagonally across their chests. People march along, including Buddhist priests with fans. Some have hand drums. M/S of soldiers and others sitting around and eating soup. Others march along by fields and rivers. M/S small crowded city street with people wearing coolie hats.
