SCOTLAND v WALES

(16 Feb 1961) STORY Wales were first out at Murrayfield, where spectators numbered 70,000 for this match with Scotland. Wales kicked off, in high hopes of killing their Murrayfield hoodoo. It was a match of hard pounding, rather than spectacular, rugger. At half time, the home fifteen were three up, and the match settled down once again to the first half pattern, with few open movements. Scotland’s one try was the match-winner.
