This water spout formed over the waters off of Carolina Beach, North Carolina on August 18th, 2011. It churned up the waters for a while before coming ashore causing some minor damage. It started approximately .5 miles off shore and dissipated about a quarter mile in shore. It came within 50 yards of my filming location before moving off the beach and inland.
