Donavon joined the band and then we were Twisted Limbs. The band consisted of three twisty besties Adrien Idiot, Rye Bread and Donzo. The group disbanded before the release of their debut ’Punched in the Face’. We didn’t know it at the time, but that album captured a really special moment for the three of us. It was raw, free, and all about getting twisty. On March 31, 2022, Rye Bread (Riley Whelan Taylor) passed away. To honour this amazing kind-hearted soul and our fellow twisty bestie, Adrien Idiot and Donzo (Donavon O’Leary) teamed up with Dana Wiesbrock to record one of the last songs Rye Bread ever wrote for Twisted Limbs. “Battery” was written amidst a lot of depression. We took Rye’s words and added a few of our own. Maybe it’s what we wish we could have said, maybe we just miss our friend. The band hopes to bring awareness and to flatten the stigma around mental illness and addiction. We want people to know ‘it’s okay, not to be okay”.
