СОВРЕМЕННЫЙ МЕЧЕВОЙ БОЙ (СМБ) Современный мечевой бой - молодой, активно развивающийся вид полноконтактного спортивного единоборства с применением различных видов имитационного клинкового оружия, изготовленных из полимерных материалов, и применяющий безопасную спортивную защитную экипировку. Мечевой Бой является современным переосмыслением боевых искусств воинов Средневековья, органично объединяющий в себе различные приёмы боя на холодном оружии рыцарей Европы и витязей Руси, кочевников Степи и воителей азиатского Востока. Сегодня в арсенале СМБ имеется более десятка различных видов имитационного оружия, с которым проводятся индивидуальные поединки, групповые командные бои и массовые манёвры. Бои ведутся в полный контакт и для безопасности бойцы используют современную защитную экипировку. Для справедливой оценки уровня бойцов разработана оригинальная система правил, стандартов и регламентов, за соблюдением которых следит судейская коллегия. В секциях и клубах СМБ занимаются дети с 4 лет, подростки, взрослые мужчины и женщины, вплоть до 60 лет, а также спортсмены с ограниченными возможностями здоровья, с подростками и взрослыми с ДЦП и ампутацией. В 2011 году в Москве создана Федерация современного мечевого боя России, более 150 клубов СМБ существуют в 50 регионах России от Калининграда до Сахалина, от Ямала до Крыма. Ежегодно Федерация СМБ России проводит более 150 мероприятий на всей территории страны. Современным Мечевым Боем занимается более 5000 человек по всей стране. С 2018 года ФСМБ России входит в Российский союз боевых искусств.
