Hungary: marshland. Long horned cattle. Men walking through a country lane. Pigs are rounded up by a man with a bugle. The marshland has been turned into a bird sanctuary. A great white heron is shown on its nest with its mate. Also featured are a family of storks, black glossy ibis and spoonbills.
A pair of naturalists load all their equipment into a small boat. The boat is seen being rowed through the marshlands through reeds. The men wear puttees as the water is full of leeches. One of the party tramples down some reeds in preparation for building a hide for the cameraman. Man wipes his face with a handkerchief.
Shot from the hide which is very close to a spoonbill’s nest. There are also many glossy ibis close to the hide. A Marsh Harrier hawk is a threat to the birds. Good shots of the spoonbill around its nest and feeding. C/Us of its feet. Shot of the nest
