Leonard Bernstein | BBC Symphony Orchestra (1982)

This is the rehearsal of Leonard Bernstein’s only engagement with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He was recording the Enigma Variations and a few other Elgar compositions the following day. Within these clips, there are some notorious clashes between Bernstein and various members of the orchestra. It was clear that the ensemble and the conductor were not a good match, and they did not work together again.
