Tutorial: How to Model Threaded Objects, such as Containers with Screw-on caps, in Blender
It is easy to model a simple thread surface in Blender -- just apply the screw modifier to a flat thread profile defined by a broken line. However, surfaces modeled this way are not very practical -- they lack a thread profile falloff. Using an online calculator we have designed, modeling very practical and 3D-printable threaded objects, such as round containers with screw-on caps, becomes very easy, and this tutorial shows you how.
