The opening opus from Elton’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album, “Funeral For A Friend“ and “Love Lies Bleeding“ were written separately but recorded together. The pair of songs have often been used as a show opener on Elton’s tours and serve as a dramatic mid-way point during the current Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
