Viking Crafts Guide (Ep. 4) Viking Shoe Pattern | Viking Tutorial | Haithabu

In this video I will show you how to make your own perfect fitting pattern for a pair of Haithabu style viking shoes. During summer I will be stitching the shoes together in the mountains of Asturias - and of course I will bring you along. The goatskin is quiet stretchy and with the multiple layers of newspaper making the pattern slightly bigger than my foot, I don’t need to add any seem allowance. The leather for the upper is 2-3mm vegetable tanned leather. The leather for the soles is 5-6mm vegetable tanned leather with a raw hide at the center. This is my first crafts guide with voice over and Im excited to hear your opinion on this format, so please let me know in the comments below. Music is played by me.
