The death toll from India’s glacier collapse has reached 50 after 12 more bodies were identified, with recovery efforts continuing as 154 people remain unaccounted for.
A large chunk of a Himalayan glacier fell into a river system about a week ago, triggering a flood which washed away roads, bridges and parts of two hydropower plants in the region.
Scientists have started to investigate what caused the glacier to split, with environmentalists blaming climate change and widespread construction in the area.
