International visitors in China can now easily use the country’s leading mobile payment platforms at tens of millions of merchants across China. WeChat Pay and Alipay announced recently that they would allow users to link international credit cards to their platforms. China’s mobile payment network became predominant in the country in the late 2010s, triggering a boom in e-commerce. But what kind of changes will the new measures bring to the country?
