QUEEN WITH ROYAL ARTILLERY AT WOOLWICH

(26 May 1958) Her Majesty the Queen paid a visit to the Royal Regiment of Artillery, which was formed at Woolwich in 1716. The Queen was received by the Master Gunner, General Sir Cameron Nicholson. There was a special display of modern equipment, and about a dozen examples of the Regiment’s latest weapons were on parade with their crews. After the inspection, Her Majesty prepared to take the salute. It was a great occasion for the Royal Regiment.
