Hello folks! Today, I’m restoring the Caucasian Qama dagger. I exchanged it for some of my old things. The dagger has an interesting stamp, I have never seen such a thing before. The dagger does not look like a Georgian dagger one and the more so, it was not possible to find out, if any of you know, please leave a comment. Thank you in advance, but I’m starting the restoration!
Initially, I used a rust remover liquid to begin with, then washed and dried. Sanding of the blade began with sandpaper 120 to 1200. All the dirt and rust was removed at the end with a soft brush and a solvent at low speed. Polishing is not about me, so we move on to the handle.
The handle for the dagger was made of beech (there is no dry buffalo horn physically!!!). But I spoiled the first blank and started the second one. I have already chosen walnut wood. Rivets “nails“ for the handle, made of ordinary nuts and an iron pin.
