Hansel and Gretel | Dollmaking Series | Part 2. Making the Heads
Part 2 of my Dollmaking Series to create a set of dolls, inspired by Hansel and Gretel. In this video we create the doll’s head using wool, stockinette, needle and thread. It’s important that we create the dolls’ inner heads with a very, very firm consistency and when we add the soft layer of wool on top, that allows us to sculpt them in a more human shape as well as give us enough wool to create a sturdy spine for our dolls.
This set is based and inspired on a previous set of dolls I created in late 2012. In the next video I will show you how I cover these little dolls in skin fabric and how to embroider their sweet eyes. Stay tuned subscribe (and allow notifications) if you don’t want to miss the next installment in this series.
